“I have late night conversations with the moon; he tells me about the sun, and I tell him about you.”
― S.L. Gray
Suppressing how you feel, especially when it comes to love is a theme that has spanned from the beginning of the non-secular world. Hiding these feelings of endearment behind the darkness of nighttime generally coincides with that same theme. A feeling of safety of telling the moon your secrets can begin the first steps in communicating how you truly feel. I captured this same secretive nature by utilizing encaustic wax and hiding poems underneath it, similar to hiding the sun behind the waxy, waning moon.
